Linda Lael Miller books about this series of brothers is about the old west with love, trouble, strong men and women. This book of the series was the one I like the most. This is about the youngest brother, his adventure of lost and love. I recommend this series to Stone Creek.
If you like her writing you'll love this book. She has everything in there romance, danger, excitment. The whole works
Gideon, son of an outlaw, came to the rescue of his childhood friend, Lydia, when he received the letter that he had written when he was eight. He knew that Lydia needed him. He just didn't know why.
I ordered this book for a friend. So can't tell you about the content and how it is written. I know I have ordered her several books by this author and she has never been disappointed.
I liked this story, but it played out very slowly. The characters were a bit too perfect for me and you could tell they were being set up for other stories to follow. I love series books, but I also want them to be a stand along novel at the same time.
Gideon is young but has lived a lot. Lydia is a beautiful damsel in distress. Of course, their relationship starts off rocky, at best. But the twists and turns their story takes is so much fun! Definitely a book to add to your reading list.
Gideon, the youngest of the Yarbro brothers thinks he marries Lydia to protect her from the old man who's after her. What he doesn't realize is that the feelings Lydia developed for him as a small child (you'll have to read a previous title in the Stone Creek series for that back story) has also created feelings in him!

After elements central to many stories set in the still-wild West--including a mine disaster, a gunfight, the development of a ramshackle ranchhouse into something suitable for a family with four children(!), this story ends as one would hope, with Gideon and Lydia together and expecting the birth of her own first child. A happy sigh of relief after the excitement of those last crises.
