I loved this book. It was so good I had to keep reading. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a well written story!
I like the subject of post apocalypse and this was a well written book but I am disappointed but the book never really built up to a climax. Their were deaths, and hardships but the story could have been so much better with some climatic or shocking events.

In reading the story I felt that I was just kind of rolling along without the highs and lows that an intriguing and engaging story will make you feel.
Reduced is riveting from the beginning. Characters brought to life are thrown into a dystopian world where the norm is no longer. The new norm is daily survival and at times that is questionable. As each characters personality and speciality is revealed the reader forms a special kinship with them.

A must read for any "doomsday" follower this book is one of those you won't want to put down. Well written and full of life, this book is a must read for everyone.

Robin is a gifted and talented writer who brings her characters to life on the pages of this book.
I was one of the fortunate few who read this book in it's final draft. This is a well crafted, well thought out story that takes the reader where they don't expect to go. As a Sci-Fi fanatic, I expected what all the other books offer and that is a plague of some sort and an assortment of various endings that include salvation, monsters, and redemption. There are monsters but not the type you would expect. There is salvation but on a more personal level. It is Abby's story of redemption and a "must read".
This is my first book by this author and I have to say she is a good find. I loved this books plot line and imagery. The Heroine makes her way through a tiny corner of the world which has not been completely wiped out by a mysterious plague. The author holds her cards close to her chest and you really don't even know why the apocalypse is really happening until the last 1/3 of the book. She paints a harsh world in which even your friends can be just as bad as your enemies. This author does not play around, some of the scenes are very realistic and slap the reader in the face, but that is what you expect in a good dystopian novel. The book does open it's self to a sequel which promises to get deeper it this twisted brave new world. If you like a good government gone crazy book you really want to read this!
Like H.G. Well's War of the worlds, Reduced is a doom's day sort of story, only the earth was not invaded and nearly destroyed by alien beings. This story does not stretch the imagination very far because the antagonists are all too real. As a matter of fact, the scariest part—and yes, this novel chilled me to the bone more than any Stephen King story could!-- is that it is so believable. This could actually happen, may be happening right this moment. We already have unscrupulous people with self-agrandising ambitions in place all over the planet so who needs an evil ET to take us down? This quick-paced tale has strong characters and for the most part are surprisingly and pleasantly female. Abby, the toughest among them all, running on instinct, adrenaline and pure determination to survive, refuses to go down like so many others around her do. The ending is hard to take if you are a sensitive sort like I am. Not hard to believe, mind you, just difficult on the soul, but once you get passed that—I won't ruin the story by divulging anything-- there is stunningly, beautiful hope for the future. That's always good for the spirit!
This is a good, solid story.

It has familiar elements, a government plot, a doomsday virus, a band of survivors who have to face a dangerous new world, but the way the story is put together is very original. The focus is on a group of women who became friends while they volunteered at a Girl Scout summer camp and stayed in touch as the years went by and they went their separate ways.

That is the group that forms the nucleus of the survivors, and that group dynamic gives this novel a very stable heart. With all that is going on--and some very bad things happen--friendship, loyalty, compassion survive.

The details are well-researched and believable. I am an expert in neither biochemistry nor military hardware, but I like to think of myself as fairly well-read and I found the story elements logical and compelling--none of those "oh, no, it didn't!" moments that derail so much post-apocalyptic fiction.

I will admit, though, that in places I felt the dialogue was weak, and in one section in particular I felt the speakers were more caricatures of a particular type than characters. That aside, the story kept me moving. The author's descriptions are vivid and realistic, many of the most powerful passages are places where nothing much is happening in a narrative sense, simple celebrations of the natural world and people's relationships with it.

All in all, I would recommend this novel. It breaks free of so many of the overdone tropes of this "type" of story and brings fresh eyes to the end of the world.
