“Standing In The Fire” is the autobiography of former Rev Theory lead guitarist Richard Thomas, better known by his stage name “Rikki Lixx”.
Richard Thomas is now a solo Christian recording artist with many albums and singles available worldwide. Richard Thomas aka Rikki Lixx opens up in his new autobiography “Standing In The Fire,” Thomas’ book details his journey from a child guitar prodigy to the lead guitarist of rock band Rev Theory as well as other national acts.
Richard started playing guitar at 10 years old, and formed his first band in grade school, where he mastered his craft. He went to Hollywood to join up with his first major label national rock band project, and later spent five years as the lead guitarist for Rev Theory. During this time, the band released three albums, and had seven top 40 hits in the United States. Eventually Richard left Rev Theory to follow The Lord. Since then he has released three solo records and several singles.
However, Thomas’ journey has not been easy, as his book details his battles with drugs
and alcohol eventually led him to overdose in the hope of dying. His story does not hold
back on topics such as life on the road, out of control drinking, and the happiness and
peace he found when he accepted Jesus Christ into his heart.

Richard Thomas exposes the raw footage of his destructive lifestyle as a rock star before being redeemed by the grace of God and the completed work of Christ on the cross. A must read for anyone that glamorizes a life of sin and is still in need of a Savior, as well as any of us, as Believers, in need of a reminder that God is still a God of miracles. Praise God for his mercy, grace, love and forgiveness in Richard's life! And praise the Lord that Richard now lives and sings for Jesus Christ, who rescued him from the great deceiver and ransomed him from a life of sin and death! Thanks, Richard, for being honest, transparent and vulnerable! May God continue to bless you and use your life and ministry in mighty ways.
Standing in the Fire, Not all about the three main staples of rock n' roll ( sex, drug and rock) and how many other artists almost glorify the lifestyle while writing about it. He has truly found Jesus and let's you look upon the life of a rockstar and what was expected from him and the rollercoaster ride of a life he has lead. The trials and tribulations, the hope and finally the amazing out come of finding Jesus Christ and how letting him into his heart truly saved him.Its a amazing read for anyone weather you are a rock band fan, someone who is searching for the answer in life, someone who isn't familiar with the man or the music at all. I couldn't put it down until i was finished! AMAZING!

It takes an incredibly brave man to take a stand, admit his mistakes, and then take responsibility for his own actions. The book; “Standing in The Fire,” written by Richard Thomas, delivers to an audience who only dares to unveil what is the utmost meaningful message about life as heard from our Lord Jesus above; thus, encompassing the honesty of what's in our hearts. The author genuinely discusses what it’s like to live in his past as a rock star behind the scenes while dealing with both trials and tribulations as well as the fun and games that are associated with living that dream. I am very impressed with how he is able to rekindle his past dream and revamp it by taking his prominent musical talents and abilities onto a new spiritual path by following God's will. This book is unsurprisingly, a must read that will take you along the depths and heights of reality that will intrigue all the various disciplines and interests of musicians and all human kind.
Having met Richard Thomas when he was "Rikki Lixx" I was both shocked & amazed at this brutally honest look inside his life & the demons he battled (and won) to become the amazing man that he is today. Not only is he a stellar guitarist & astounding musician but he is also a sincere, caring individual with a kind heart. The bizarre part is he also seemed to be that same guy when he was Rikki Lixx as well. It's amazing to read his testimony and I'm happy that he beat those demons and is able to inspire others by spreading the gospel. It does make one want to be a better person. Congratulations on all your achievements, Rick.
It was a bold move to write this book, and took a lot of courage for this musician to share his testimony. While his testimony is unique, I suspect there are others (might even be surprised by how many) in his field who are grappling with the same dark issues and spiritual questions that RT did. Therefore, I recommend Standing in the Fire for enlightening, strength, and the road to truth and peace. This story is certainly a testament to the search for the meaning of life and our individual and collective purpose within it. Bravo, Richard Thomas, for pressing through! All glory to God, forever.
Richard Thomas is not only an excellent guitarist, lyricist, he is also a wonderful singer with so much love and care that he puts into his music - and that is the same love he puts into his autobiography - he writes the truth about his life as a genuine person and as his time as a secular rock star - it is like you are there with him and vividly so as he goes through his addictions - and has his family and friends lovingly standing by him at all times. He takes you through the battle of addictions to the place where he hit rock bottom so to speak. Because of his family members who prayed he has always been protected by God - then there comes the time where he accepted Jesus Christ into his life and Jesus has brought so much beauty and blessings to Richard and his loved ones that this part of his life has become so much more beautiful than what took place in his past - as valuable as those experiences were. I have been blessed to get to know him a bit also - I call him Sir Richard because he truly is a knight in God's Holy Army - he is a stellar and sweet soul amen. Read his book to find out for yourself about this Godly man ))
